1. Rhythm IV

2. Circle of Fifths (Major Keys)

  • All Major Key Signatures

3. Major Scales and Chords

  • Construct all major scales with key signatures

  • Identify scale degree Names (tonic, supertonic, etc.)

  • Identify scale degree chords (tonic, dominant, etc.)

Ear Training

  1. Intervals: Listen to the intervals and identify by number and quality (major or perfect).  Only major and perfect intervals within an octave will be played.  

  2. Triads: Listen to the triads (major or minor) and identify the quality of each triad. Only major and minor triads in root position will be presented.

  3. Rhythmic dictation: Identify the rhythm you hear.  Add a single stem for a quarter note and stems with a beam for two eighth notes.  

  4. Melodic dictation: Identify the melody you hear.  Write in the missing note.  Make sure the note values and stems are correct.

  5. Listen to short tunes played on the keyboard and identify the time signature (3/4.  4/4 or 6/8).
